Black Rope Camera Strap with Leather Shoulder Pad

This strap combines a 10 mm climbing rope body with a wider 29 mm shoulder pad made from full-grain leather. Quiet, solid, and comfortable — built for long days of carrying a camera without attracting attention. The shoulder pad spreads weight across a larger surface, while the rope keeps the strap flexible and light.

I cut the leather from thicker full-grain hide (around 2.0 mm) and form it into a cylindrical pad that wraps naturally to the shoulder. Over time, it will slowly darken and record marks from use — something I personally love about full-grain leather. Each strap is made one by one here in my small workshop.

Usage & Compatibility

Fits most film, mirrorless, and compact cameras that use standard strap lugs. The cylindrical pad gives comfortable shoulder support and spreads weight nicely if you shoot for long hours or carry heavier lenses.

Care Notes

• The full-grain leather shoulder pad will slowly darken and develop patina.
• If the leather looks dry, treat lightly with a neutral balm.
• Avoid soaking the strap; let it air-dry if wet.
