This purple climbing rope camera strap is for photographers who enjoy something a little different, without going over the top. I use a bright purple 10 mm climbing rope as the main body, finish it with full-grain leather ends, and hand-stitch a subtle multi-color thread detail. It’s not flashy at first glance, but when you look closely, that small detail feels warm, personal, and a little bit playful.

Each strap is made one by one in my small workshop. The rope is soft enough for everyday carry, yet firm enough to keep its shape

Usage & Compatibility

This strap works well with a wide range of mirrorless, film, and compact cameras that use standard strap lugs. It’s a good match if you like to keep your setup light, but still want something with personality and a tactile, workshop-made feel rather than a mass-produced accessory.

If you prefer to wear your camera cross-body, around the neck, or a little shorter as a shoulder strap, choose the length that matches your usual carry style—or leave a note at checkout and I’ll adjust it for you.

Care Notes

  • The full-grain leather ends will slowly darken and develop patina with use.
  • If the leather looks dry over time, you can treat it lightly with a neutral leather balm.
  • Avoid soaking the strap; if it gets wet, let it dry naturally away from direct heat.
